This shot was a high angle shot so it would make the girl appear smaller in order to give the impression of vunerabilty. The two figures in the background were there to look as those they were coming after her and the use of their dark costumes highlights that they are the protagonist.
If this shot was used for the poster it would be landcape, however when taking the real shoots the lightly would need to be dark in order to confirm the genre and the darkness/ intensity of the film.
To conclude I like the angle of the shot as well as the fact you get a good sense of the setting, however as the girl is at the bottom of the shot it would be hard to position the title correcting without cutting to much of the actress out.
This image was taken in amongst the trees in order to give the impression the character is hiding from something or someone. This shot isn't very conventional as it is purely a shot of her and very little else. It would be hard for the audience to grasp the setting of the film and the situation of the girl.
We rejected this shot for the poster because it would be very hard to position text such as the title, billing block and release date due to the fact the posistion of the girl is at an angle. As a group we wanted a conventional poster and this shot would break many conventions.
This is my favourite shot taken as it clearly shows the genre through the use of setting, clothing and expressions. There is also a clear central focus on the girl however then your eyes move futhure forward onto the perpertrators and it is easy to distinguish between who is who.
One weakness of this is the lighting and if they were the shot we decide to use the lighting would need to be dimmed in order to strength the sense of danger.
