Poster progess

The posters below are drafts and trails to lead up the the final product. The reason for having so many drafts were to experiement and build up layers such as text and a billing block and also to play around with different lights. The vital that the poster is up to a high standard and looks as though it would fit in with professional posters. The importance of the poster is to aid the marketing of the film.

Throughout the poster process numerous images were taken in a variety of locations in order to give the group a range to chose from. In addition to the various locations there were many different positions tried in order to get the body language of the victim and perpetrators fitting for the film.

The images had to be taken in the day even though the final poster is dark. The reason for this is that on the camera the images look darker resulting in a very unclear picture. The way we over came this was to correct the lighting on Photoshop in order to give an even look. The way in which this was created was by copying the background layer of the image using the controls followed the format of: Filter > Render > Lighting Effects.

Although the overall image is dark the perpetrators are still visible in the background just enough so there presence is there. There is high key highing around the victim in order to show she is the main character as well as good.

The other side edges of the poster have been darkened further than the rest in order to give the impression the girl is enclosed and trapped not only by the surroundings but the two men behind her.

The reasons for the the positions are as followed:
The two men are behind her lurking to give the impression they are following the girl and are in dark clothing to highlight to the viewer that they are not the nice characters.
The girl is positioned on the floor at the front to give the view that she is trying to get away from the men. In addition she has been placed at a lower level (on the floor) to show vunerability and not as physical as the men which also resembles her to have lower staus because of the levels created. Lighter clothing is worn by the victim in order to show light and the fact is is not trying to hide behind dark clothing shows she is not a threat.
